Michael b. jordan's thomas crown revamp takes a darker turn
Michael B. Jordan's upcoming take on the suave art thief Thomas Crown is trading in debonair charm for a colder, more ruthless edge. In the first trailer for Amazon MGM Studios' 2027 release, Jordan stars and directs as Crown, bringing a deadly intensity to the role previously inhabited by Pierce Brosnan and Steve McQueen.

A fist-fighting antihero
Where previous iterations portrayed Crown as a wealthy playboy who flirts with federal investigators while pulling off high-stakes heists, Jordan's version is a combat-ready vigilante who sends men to the hospital with his CQC hand-to-hand skills. The trailer hints at an even darker side to Crown's escapades, with Jordan's character tangling with Adria Arjona's character in a scene that promises plenty of sparks and danger.
For fans of Jordan's work in Creed III and his action-packed style, this darker take on Thomas Crown is sure to thrill. However, some may lament the loss of the character's signature romantic escapism in favor of a potentially derivative James Bond-inspired approach. Either way, the promise of a stylish, high-octane heist film with Jordan at the helm is undeniably enticing. The Thomas Crown Affair hits theaters on March 5, 2027.
